Introspective singer-songwriter Indy has a pop smash on her hands with the release of her new single, “Sail Away." Following the devastatingly beautiful “Savior” released earlier this year, this new single takes Indy’s artistry to unexplored places, lyrically and sonically.

While Indy’s no stranger to penning heartbreak’s intricacies, “Sail Away” touches on uncharted territory for the budding storyteller. The track captures the unspoken intimacy of female friendships that feel more than platonic. Indy opens up about the boundary-less experience of placeholder relationships, when you feel used by someone who will ultimately prioritize romantic letdowns. On inspiration behind the track, Indy shares, “We shared beds, held hands in the car, she would pick me up from late night parties and drive us home. It was the first time I was in love with a girl and didn't know it."

“Sail Away” is a beautiful enigma of a pop song. Its sensitive lyricism is paired with a bouncy, optimistic sound, reflecting the light of shedding someone who never put you first. The beat is crisp, immediately hooking you from the instrumental. Indy’s emotionally charged vocal slides on the first verse, singing with passion “And I can’t listen to the same thing, over and over / When you don’t even get your needs met / He’s pulling you under.” The chorus explodes into an infectious release, completely captivating by its intricate production and the freeing nature of Indy’s performance.

“Sail Away” is an instant earworm and arrives just in time for summer, the season where it sonically belongs. This new vibe from Indy perfectly suits her smart songwriting and raw energy, making us even more excited to witness her evolving perspective.
