Jada Michael Delivers a Self-Love Affirmation With "Go"
It is hard to suppress good energy, the persistent force that drives us to compound the best of ourselves, the momentum that makes us "Go." For Jada Michael, stepping outside of norms and expectations is a learned second nature; her voice, both as a human and an artist is about imagination and “getting my ideas out seamlessly.” Jada, based in Miami, had a self-described versatile life experience, a mixture of influences, identities, and cultures but R&B was resolutely true in her heart.
That lineage is undeniable in "Go" but it also emphasizes the range Jada comfortably occupies: luscious longing vocals wrapped over a tight afrobeat with a beautiful chorus cadence that hits as the underlying house track builds. None of it feels forced, just an extension of a woman whose talents carry well beyond the box of her blackness, queerness, or silhouette, an artist who embraces all the fluidity of her water sign, reclaiming her energy.
