Indie-rock four-piece Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers have given us something to look forward to in these chaotic times; their second full-length studio album, GLORY, is slated to drop on November 7. Alongside the exciting news, the band has blessed our ears with their latest single, "MOTHER," which is unlike anything Teen Jesus has released before. The fiery and rage-filled track sees guitarist Scarlett McKahey taking lead vocals for the first time.

The track opens with twangy, western-inspired sonics, lifting McKahey's rich, lulling vocals. The brooding and bluesy production then explodes into fury, as she sings, "I shall not suffer a holy man's crusade." The track continues to go full steam ahead as the band screams alongside her at the top of their lungs and leaves no room for anyone else.

The band shares, "'MOTHER' is for every beautiful, magical lady who's been caught in the crossfire of a man pretending to be good. It's about the built-up rage of watching incredible women being mistreated by inadequate men, over and over again, since the beginning of time."

The accompanying music video, directed by Tas Wilson, sees the band members attending a church service together. Through hushed whispers, they plan their own mischievous plans before piling into a car and speeding off into the sunset to attend an underground boxing ring. They deliver a raw and intense performance, perfectly capturing the energy and emotion of the song and drawing us seamlessly into the world of the album.

The new single will feature on the band's upcoming album, GLORY, alongside their previously released tracks "BALCONY" and "UNSCARRED." The record is an exploration of confidence, disgust, infatuation, and power set against widescreen indie rock that you can strut to, ushering in a bold new era for the band. It's the sound of getting the bus home after a night out, mascara smeared and battery on 1%. It's the conspiratorial eye roll you share with a girlfriend when a loser guy won't stop talking. It's Cher Horowitz declaring, "Ugh, as if!" in Clueless.
