Bite The Hand Go Full Sugarcore With Pissed Off New Single "Stay Mad" | THE NOISE

Arizona's Bite The Hand brings the blistering heat with the release of their latest single, "STAY MAD." The track is an anthem about getting pissed with purpose showing off their distinctly irresistible brand of sugarcore, a fiery blend of sweetness and fury, pairing soft moments with sudden bursts of rage.

"STAY MAD" from the jump shines with its heart-on-sleeve lyrics and razor-sharp hardcore instrumentals. Vocalist Echo Breen screams amid the delightfully chaotic arrangement, "My bones are breaking/ My brain is shaking/ New bruise fading/ I keep popping/ To stop from thinking/ That I am dying." She wonders why she's still alive, reflecting on the world's disarray and things that keep her up at night, wondering when anything will feel normal again.

"There are so many broken systems and injustices that we have to bear witness to on a daily basis, it can feel overwhelming and impossible to work through," Breen says of the track's intention. "When you are down bad, you can stay mad. This song focuses on my anger that follows me around like a dog, but it's anger that often motivates us to change in a positive way."

The accompanying music video matches the intensity of the song's message with a black-and-white visual that sees the band deliver a spectacular performance of the track.

The song comes from the group's debut EP, CONNED OUT OF LIFE, released in August. Their debut EP, CONNED OUT OF LIFE, was a ferocious exploration of beauty, anger, and catharsis. Overall, the record captures the familiar feeling of not fitting in and leaves listeners with the message that it's ok to not feel normal.
