From dishwasher, to American Idol runner up, to releasing music under his previous name Scarypoolparty, Alejandro Aranda’s career has been a whirlwind journey. The singer’s latest single “Meant to Be” is a deep dive into the feeling of knowing that you’ve found the one. 

“This is meant to be an acoustic song that's easy to listen to. I had a dream about running away from society and just hopping on a train heading all around the world, crossing different countries and cities, but no matter what it always led me back to love and how it feels. It’s 'meant to be,'” Aranda shared. 

While the song is easy to listen to, it doesn’t diminish the work that Aranda has put into it. Aranda shows off his guitar skills with a bright, repeating guitar riff, accompanied by his dulcet vocals. The single’s chorus builds on the tone created in the verse with the guitar and vocals being joined by layered harmonies. Aranda’s passion for his lover and the feelings he has shine bright, as he sings “You and I are meant to be in love.” With its instrumentation and sweet, charming lyrics “Meant To Be” would not be out of place on the soundtrack of a romcom, playing over the moment the leads realize that whatever differences they may have, their love is stronger. 

Fans have been itching for the release of “Meant to Be” since Aranda first teased it on TikTok, and now the moment they’ve been waiting for is finally here. We can’t wait to hear what’s next for Alejandro in 2025!
